Invoicing is now a feature of the three Square plans rather than its own subscription in the US: Square Free ($0, pay only processing fees), Square Plus ($49 a month per location) and Square Premium ($149 a month per location), plus a quoted Square Pro for businesses over $250,000 a year. The old standalone Square Invoices Plus is kept only for legacy sellers (Square help article 8569). The real cost is the processing fee on every invoice paid: 3.3% + 30 cents on Free for a card paid online, 2.9% + 30 cents on Plus and Premium; ACH bank transfer 1% with a $1 minimum, capped at $10 on Plus and Premium; card on file 3.5% + 15 cents on every plan. Plus and Premium have a 30-day free trial; no annual price is shown.

Who it suits

Weak at: Not a bookkeeping tool and not cheap for a business that sends many high-value invoices: there are no bank feeds, expenses or books on the page, the fee is a percentage of every payment, and the paid plans are per location at $49 and $149.
