UK prices in GBP, excluding 20% VAT, set by business type rather than by clients or users: sole trader £19, partnership or LLP £27, limited company £33, unincorporated landlord £10 a month (annual £190 / £270 / £330 / £100). Every type carries a 50% introductory discount for the first six months (monthly) or the first year (annual); the regular price is recorded as the price. Every type is free with a NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster Bank business current account, and the sole trader, limited company and landlord types are also free with a Mettle account that has at least one transaction a month. Add-ons: Smart Capture Unlimited £5 a month, Amazon connection £6 a month (not landlords). The US product is a single Sole Proprietor plan at $27 a month ($270 a year), with the same 50% intro, recorded as the only USD tier. 30-day free trial. In the US FreeAgent sells one plan, Sole Proprietor, at $27 a month ($22.5 a month billed yearly); UK prices are the ones compared here.

Who it suits

Built for: A UK sole trader, partnership or small limited company that wants VAT, MTD, payroll and Self Assessment handled in one place, especially one banking with NatWest, RBS, Ulster Bank or Mettle, where it is free.

Weak at: GBP-only outside a single US sole proprietor plan, priced by legal structure rather than by growth, with no inventory and no mention of recurring invoices or AI on the pricing page; a scaling product business or a non-UK team is not who it is priced for.
