CoachRx vs ABC Trainerize
Priced at four roster sizes, the features checked against both pricing pages, and my own verdict on each.
Take CoachRx if you want habits and behaviour change. Take ABC Trainerize if you want general online 1:1 coaching and a route up to gym or studio management. CoachRx is cheaper at every size we price.
What each one actually costs
The real monthly figure at four roster sizes with the add-ons each platform forces on you included, from the same engine the shortlist quiz uses. The cheaper of the two is marked on every row.
| CoachRx | ABC Trainerize | Difference | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 clients | $79 | $135 | $56 |
| 25 clients | $79 | $135 | $56 |
| 50 clients | $79 | $135 | $56 |
| 100 clients | $199 | $275 | $76 |
What is actually different
- ABC Trainerize does appointment booking, client food logging, more than one coach seat, nutrition plans, your own app in the stores, sellable packages and taking payments, and CoachRx does not. We checked both against their pricing pages.
- ABC Trainerize lists client check-ins, intake forms, leaderboards and body metrics where CoachRx does not, which is their own wording rather than something we verified.
I have used both
Condensed from my own reviews. Every line links to the second I said it, so you can check any of it. Prices in the table above are from this week; the videos are older and the figures in them are not.
CoachRx
A robust coaching-focused platform with advanced client management features, though slightly pricier than alternatives.
- Tracks touch points with clients so you can see how often you're communicating with each person. 7:16
- Loom video messaging is built directly into the system for sending personalised videos to clients. 8:58
- Pre-built training programs are included that you can use straightaway or tweak to suit your clients. 11:22
- Pricing sits on the more expensive end compared to other training program software. 4:34
- Not a one-stop shop, so it won't have all the features some coaches might be looking for. 10:27
- Doesn't connect to Zapier or similar automation tools, though this might come in future. 16:53

ABC Trainerize
A robust, feature-rich platform that I use personally as a client and my coach has stuck with for five years.
- Having training templates is really good if you're just getting started, plus the workout builder is helpful. 1:38
- It gives you exercise videos so you don't have to record them yourself. 1:45
- I actually really like this in the gym: I open the app, start my session, log my reps and weights, and see how I'm progressing each week. 7:03
- The messaging service is a little bit clunky, not that intuitive, and not like WhatsApp or iMessage. 4:56
- A little noisy when you sign in; I do think a lot of these apps are quite heavy on their data and dashboards. 4:28
- Getting this set up will take time because creating all the template programs is a bit time-consuming to start with. 6:36
