CoachRx vs TrueCoach

Priced at four roster sizes, the features checked against both pricing pages, and my own verdict on each.

Take CoachRx if you want habits and behaviour change. Take TrueCoach if you want general online 1:1 coaching and the fastest programme builder. TrueCoach is cheaper on a small roster and CoachRx is cheaper by 25 clients, so the answer changes with your size.

What each one actually costs

The real monthly figure at four roster sizes with the add-ons each platform forces on you included, from the same engine the shortlist quiz uses. The cheaper of the two is marked on every row.

What is actually different

  • CoachRx does group programmes, and TrueCoach does not. We checked both against their pricing pages.
  • TrueCoach does more than one coach seat, nutrition plans and taking payments, and CoachRx does not. We checked both against their pricing pages.
  • TrueCoach lists group chat and body metrics where CoachRx does not, which is their own wording rather than something we verified.

I have used both

CoachRx

A robust coaching-focused platform with advanced client management features, though slightly pricier than alternatives.

  • Tracks touch points with clients so you can see how often you're communicating with each person. 7:16
  • Loom video messaging is built directly into the system for sending personalised videos to clients. 8:58
  • Pre-built training programs are included that you can use straightaway or tweak to suit your clients. 11:22
  • Pricing sits on the more expensive end compared to other training program software. 4:34
  • Not a one-stop shop, so it won't have all the features some coaches might be looking for. 10:27
  • Doesn't connect to Zapier or similar automation tools, though this might come in future. 16:53

TrueCoach

A robust system with good features for workout building, messaging and payments, though the dashboard can feel noisy and busy.

  • Workout builder lets you create training programs for online clients. 1:25
  • Access to over 1,200 exercise videos saves time if you haven't made your own. 1:32
  • Real-time messaging keeps client conversations on one platform instead of scattered across WhatsApp, email and Messenger. 1:43
  • The dashboard feed is noisy and confusing at first look. 4:22
  • The programming view shows a lot of information on one page, making it feel technical and busy. 6:21
  • No Zapier access, so you cannot connect it to other apps or automate workflows. 10:18
