My PT Hub vs ABC Trainerize

Priced at four roster sizes, the features checked against both pricing pages, and my own verdict on each.

Take My PT Hub if you want unlimited clients on a flat fee and general online 1:1 coaching. Take ABC Trainerize if you want general online 1:1 coaching and a route up to gym or studio management. My PT Hub is cheaper at every size we price.

What each one actually costs

The real monthly figure at four roster sizes with the add-ons each platform forces on you included, from the same engine the shortlist quiz uses. The cheaper of the two is marked on every row.

What is actually different

  • My PT Hub lists selling courses and progress photos where ABC Trainerize does not, which is their own wording rather than something we verified.
  • ABC Trainerize lists intake forms and leaderboards where My PT Hub does not, which is their own wording rather than something we verified.

My PT Hub

A feature-rich, clean platform that suits established coaches, but the flat-fee pricing is rough if you're just starting out.

  • Offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card required, so you can test it properly before committing. 1:22
  • Has its own extensive video library for exercises, so you don't need to spend time shooting your own. 7:03
  • The user interface is very simple and clean, not confusing like some competitors. 7:57
  • Flat pricing means you pay the full monthly rate even with just one client, unlike apps that scale with your roster. 3:27
  • Not ideal for new coaches trying to save costs because you jump straight to the top-tier price after the trial. 3:32
  • Does not integrate with Zapier, which limits automation options with other software. 13:36
  • The interface felt a bit slow and took time to save, though that may have been due to screen recording. 7:32

ABC Trainerize

A robust, feature-rich platform that I use personally as a client and my coach has stuck with for five years.

  • Having training templates is really good if you're just getting started, plus the workout builder is helpful. 1:38
  • It gives you exercise videos so you don't have to record them yourself. 1:45
  • I actually really like this in the gym: I open the app, start my session, log my reps and weights, and see how I'm progressing each week. 7:03
  • The messaging service is a little bit clunky, not that intuitive, and not like WhatsApp or iMessage. 4:56
  • A little noisy when you sign in; I do think a lot of these apps are quite heavy on their data and dashboards. 4:28
  • Getting this set up will take time because creating all the template programs is a bit time-consuming to start with. 6:36

Neither, or not sure?

A head to head only helps once you have picked the two. The shortlist asks 9 questions about your own roster and gives you four picks priced at your client count, from all 26.
