MyCoach AI vs ABC Trainerize

Priced at four roster sizes, the features checked against both pricing pages, and my own verdict on each.

Take MyCoach AI if you want a very small or fluctuating roster. Take ABC Trainerize if you want general online 1:1 coaching and a route up to gym or studio management. MyCoach AI is cheaper on a small roster and ABC Trainerize is cheaper by 50 clients, so the answer changes with your size.

What each one actually costs

The real monthly figure at four roster sizes with the add-ons each platform forces on you included, from the same engine the shortlist quiz uses. The cheaper of the two is marked on every row.

What is actually different

  • MyCoach AI lists selling courses, group chat and progress photos where ABC Trainerize does not, which is their own wording rather than something we verified.
  • ABC Trainerize does appointment booking, your own app in the stores and sellable packages, and MyCoach AI does not. We checked both against their pricing pages.
  • ABC Trainerize lists automations, leaderboards and body metrics where MyCoach AI does not, which is their own wording rather than something we verified.

MyCoach AI

A solid AI-first coaching platform that simplifies programming and nutrition, though it lacks some features and Android support compared to established competitors.

  • Heavily built around AI and automation, designed to halve the time spent on programming and check-ins. 10:18
  • Large pre-built library of exercises, recipes, and meal plans that keeps improving as the AI pulls in more data. 10:25
  • Smart workouts let clients swap exercises or switch to home training with one tap when they cannot access gym equipment. 10:36
  • Only a proper iOS app at the moment; the Android version is a hybrid browser experience which lets it down. 11:42
  • Few integrations and no direct API access, so connecting it to other marketing tools is not really possible yet. 11:37
  • Wearable sync goes to Apple Health first then pulls into the app, which can cause glitches and issues. 11:55
  • Does not have all the features that established competitors like Coach Catalyst or Trainerize might have. 15:37

ABC Trainerize

A robust, feature-rich platform that I use personally as a client and my coach has stuck with for five years.

  • Having training templates is really good if you're just getting started, plus the workout builder is helpful. 1:38
  • It gives you exercise videos so you don't have to record them yourself. 1:45
  • I actually really like this in the gym: I open the app, start my session, log my reps and weights, and see how I'm progressing each week. 7:03
  • The messaging service is a little bit clunky, not that intuitive, and not like WhatsApp or iMessage. 4:56
  • A little noisy when you sign in; I do think a lot of these apps are quite heavy on their data and dashboards. 4:28
  • Getting this set up will take time because creating all the template programs is a bit time-consuming to start with. 6:36
